I don't think I can confirm that. There are times when it is entirely appropriate and extremely profitable.

It is entirely opponent driven. I have seen a lot of players doing stuff like that with random pocket pairs. They figure your chances of having the over pair are pretty small and it's really hard to call.

I look at their aggression factors for this, especially flop aggression if you have a lot of hands.

Regardless, don't feel bad about these. When you have an overpair or top pair and someone hits a set you're going to lose money.

Feel bad when you're calling stuff like this with bottom pair.
